Experienced gardeners never throw away spoiled potatoes and their peels, because they can be added to compost or buried under currants.

What this gives to currants is explained by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

How Potato Peelings Are Useful for Currants

Top dressing with potato peelings stimulates the development of phosphate-mobilizing bacteria.

Thanks to these microorganisms, currants better absorb phosphorus from the soil.

You can simply place the peelings under the bush and pour in the EM preparation, or you can dig a shallow trench around the bush, place the peelings in it and bury it.

An important nuance: you cannot use potato peelings to feed bushes growing near beds with nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers).

Earlier we talked about how to fertilize tomato seedlings.
