The problem of excess moisture in the area can be solved by planting water-loving plants.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh talks about the most moisture-loving plants.

What plants to plant to drain the area

Plants that drink water include conifers, lilac, viburnum, sea buckthorn, rose hips, columbine, rowan, cherry plum and blackthorn.

Poplar, birch, oak, beech, maple and willow consume a lot of water, but these trees are not very suitable for a summer house. You can plant, for example, a dwarf birch.

Of the conifers, swamp cypress, blue spruce, Canadian hemlock, fir, pine, and ancient metasequoia are often used to drain the area.
