In order for tomato seedlings to grow strong and healthy, they need to be fed in a timely manner.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us what fertilizers tomato seedlings need and when it is best to apply them.
How to properly feed tomato seedlings
Immediately after planting and emergence of seedlings, you should not feed the seedlings.
When picking, you can use biostimulants; 12-14 days after the procedure, you can move on to basic feeding.
During this period, seedlings will benefit from a combination of phosphorus and potassium. For example, you can use potassium monophosphate.
The following fertilizing with products containing phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen is done at intervals of two weeks.
It is better to apply fertilizers in the morning. An hour or two before feeding, the seedlings need to be watered.
Before planting in the ground, it is recommended to feed the seedlings with a universal fertilizer; biostimulants are used immediately after planting.
