Do all seeds need to be soaked before planting: even knowledgeable gardeners get confused

The benefits of soaking seeds are known to all gardeners and vegetable growers who have ever had to deal with them.

But, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , this procedure is not indicated for all seeds.

So, you shouldn’t soak the seeds of those crops that sprout very quickly naturally.

An example is cucumber seeds, which germinate within a day after being sown in moist soil.

The same applies to onions - if you use quality seeds, they will germinate in just 12 hours.

It is enough to simply soak the seed material a little so that the water penetrates the skin, after which the seeds swell and germinate.

Soaking is required for slow-germinating seeds that are in a deep dormancy state – stimulating treatments are very useful for them.

In this case, the summer resident, as they say, has a free rein, because he can use hormones, acids, bacteria, preparations based on trichoderma, etc.

Earlier, the expert told what to plant under trees in the garden.
