If you are planning to grow delphinium, the first thing you should do is disinfect the equipment that you plan to use for sowing, as well as prepare the containers and soil.
To prepare the soil mixture, combine parts of peat, turf soil, humus and add 0.5 parts of coarse sand and a glass of perlite. This and other advice was shared with us by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
Before sowing, stratify the seeds with cold. To do this, the seeds should be spread over the surface of the substrate, slightly deepening them, and “covered” with a thin layer of soil on top.
All that remains is to spray the seeds with a nutrient solution (you can use Vitalizer, Ekbi 1, etc. as preparations) from a spray bottle, cover with an opaque thick material, wrap in plastic and put in the refrigerator, on the balcony or outside for 10-14 days.
With the first shoots, the “covering” is removed, and the containers are moved to a bright place with a temperature of +15-18 degrees (not higher).
The seedlings must be illuminated, and the soil moisture must be monitored. To prevent it from drying out, water the seedlings at the root with a syringe, and do not forget about loosening.
As soon as the first true leaves appear (usually 2-3 weeks after sowing), delphinium sprouts must be transplanted into separate containers with a volume of about 300 ml (or more).
When picking, the plants should be deepened into the soil to the level of the true leaves in order to strengthen their root system.
Earlier we wrote about whether it is necessary to scald currants in the spring.
