As the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh said, if you sow these flowers in February, they will bloom in early June. If you sow the seeds in March, then flowering, accordingly, will occur at the end of June.
Since the seeds of these plants are very small, many gardeners mix them with sand or sow them on snow so that they can be seen.
But there is another, equally simple and effective way of sowing.
Usually, begonia and lobelia seeds are not soaked, since, we repeat, they are very small and it is quite inconvenient to take them out and dry them.
However, in this case, it is recommended to soak the seeds for several hours to stimulate germination.
Sowing is carried out as follows: the soil is moistened, then the seeds are soaked in a glass of water and poured onto the ground along with the water, after which they are sprinkled with sand and sprayed.
Although you may have heard that small seeds do not need to be covered with soil, try covering them with sand to provide an obstacle in their path that will help the seeds shed their seed coats.
