Chinese gardeners never have onions rot, and that's because they plant them in a special way.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh talks about the Chinese method of planting onions.

How the Chinese Plant Onions

The Chinese grow onions on ridges. They are formed like this: we make furrows and pour soil on one side to form a long mound.

Next, simply lay out the seed material on the ridge without pressing it into the soil, and sprinkle it with earth.

You can also sprinkle the bulbs with a mixture of wood ash and tobacco dust; this will protect the plantings from onion flies.

The distance between the bulbs should be 10-12 centimeters, the distance between the ridges should be at least 20 cm.

Onions grown on ridges should be watered in the furrows.

Earlier, the expert told how to fertilize fruit trees and shrubs in early spring.
