Microgreens are simply a storehouse of vitamins and microelements. According to some data, they contain 40 times more useful substances than an adult plant.
It is for this reason, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , that growing microgreens has become such a popular activity.
If you want to have this superfood at home, let's figure out how to grow microgreens at home without using soil.
The first step is to rinse the peas and soak them in water overnight.
Next, make your microgreen growing containers. Cut some styrofoam containers in half to make trays, with lots of holes in the bottom.
In trays without holes, it is worth placing lids from plastic bottles, which will serve as a support.
Now fill them with water and place the halves of the containers with holes in the bottom on top of the lids.
Fill them with pre-soaked peas and close the styrofoam containers with lids. After 24 hours, you will be able to see the peas sprouting.
Rinse the peas with tap water twice a day. This is very easy to do since they are in trays with holes in them.
After three days, you will see green shoots appear before your eyes, after which you can grow microgreens with the lid open.
Don't forget to change the water in the trays regularly and spray the young shoots. After a week (or eight days maximum), the pea sprouts are ready to eat.
