Violets are popular houseplants that delight with their vibrant colors.
In order for these plants to thrive, they need to be properly cared for and fed.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to feed violets with yeast.
One of the proven and affordable ways to feed violets is to use yeast.
Yeast fungi contain many substances beneficial to plants, including amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and growth stimulants.
Their use helps improve plant nutrition, increase their resistance to diseases and adverse conditions, stimulate the growth of roots and stems, and increase the duration and intensity of flowering.
To feed violets, you can use both fresh and dry yeast, observing certain proportions and temperature conditions.
Here are some recipes for yeast solutions for feeding violets.
If you have fresh yeast, then to activate it you need to dissolve 10 grams of this product in a liter of slightly warm (about 40 degrees Celsius) water with the addition of 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Mix thoroughly and let stand in a warm place for two to three hours.
If you have dry yeast, its use involves preliminary dilution in warm water - 5 liters, with the addition of 5 grams of the product, 1 tbsp. sugar and 2 tbsp. flour. Let this mixture sit for an hour or two, and then dilute it with five parts of water.
