No one will argue that begonia is one of the most beloved plants among gardeners, and we should thank for this such qualities of the flower as its unpretentiousness, beautiful appearance and variety of varieties.

If you are also one of the begonia admirers, you will probably find the advice of the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh useful, who told when to plant begonia seedlings.

In order to achieve flowering of the plant already in the first month of summer, it is recommended to start growing seedlings in the period from February to the end of March.

At this time, the daylight hours are already long enough for the plants to develop without additional lighting, and there is still enough time before the onset of warm weather for the young seedlings to get stronger before planting in open ground or in pots on a balcony or windowsill.

Sowing is done with seeds in nutritious, sufficiently moist soil, after which the containers with seeds are covered with film and placed in a warm place for germination.

After 1-2 weeks, when the first shoots appear, the film can be removed and the seedlings can be placed in a lighted place.

After the seedlings have formed 2-3 true leaves, they can be transplanted into separate pots and continued to be cared for, providing regular watering and sufficient light.

And already in May, start planting the grown seedlings in a permanent place - in flower beds or pots.

Earlier, BelNovosti wrote about how to make hanging flowerpots for indoor plants with your own hands.
