We all want to have strong and healthy seedlings, but this is not always possible.
However, the situation can be improved by timely application of fertilizers, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.
When to apply the first fertilizer
The first seedling feeding is done after the first two or three leaves appear. To prepare the fertilizer, add one teaspoon of potassium sulfate and the same amount of ammonium nitrate to a 10-liter container with warm water.
Then add one tablespoon of superphosphate and mix well. Water the young plants with this liquid.
Recipe for the second feeding
The second application of fertilizers is carried out after picking.
To prepare the fertilizer, add two tablespoons of wood ash and one tablespoon of nitrophoska to a 10-liter container with warm water and mix thoroughly.
Final feeding
The third feeding is done a couple of days before planting in a greenhouse or open ground.
To prepare the fertilizer, add two tablespoons of superphosphate and the same amount of potassium nitrate to 10 liters of warm water. Then add one tablespoon of urea and mix well.
