Any gardener knows that protecting plants from pests and diseases requires significant financial costs for the purchase of specialized preparations.
However, before making such investments, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises trying to use time-tested folk methods.
Ammonia
To treat plants, add 2-3 tablespoons of ammonia per 10 liters of water and water the plantings with the resulting solution.
This method is effective in controlling various pests, as the strong smell of ammonia repels many of them.
For example, treating strawberries before flowering and at the beginning of flowering with an ammonia solution helps protect plants from weevils.
Sapropel tar
This product, although it can hardly be called a medicine, is inexpensive and can save you more than one ruble, since it effectively protects the garden from ants, aphids, caterpillars and other insects thanks to its pungent smell.
It also helps in controlling plant diseases such as powdery mildew.
It is enough to dilute natural sapropel tar in water (30-50 ml per 10 l), after which it can be used to treat plants.
