Growing a good crop of carrots can be a challenging task for a novice gardener.

As the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explains, it is necessary to take into account many factors and follow certain rules both during planting and during subsequent care.

That's why we decided to share with you a few tricks that will help you grow large and even root vegetables.

The first thing you need to do is take a responsible approach to choosing a landing site.

This vegetable prefers to grow in a well-lit area, so avoid planting in the shade. Also, do not use soil where herbs such as dill and parsley were previously grown. And of course, avoid places where carrots were grown last year.

As for the soil, it should be loose with an acidity of 6-7 pH.

To achieve the desired state of "looseness", use sand, peat and humus. But on the contrary, you should avoid adding pine needles, leaves, poorly rotted compost and other solid objects to the bed.

The reason is simple – hard objects can damage the tender roots of carrots, and as a result, your harvest will consist of unsightly, misshapen fruits.

We'll share one last trick that will help you achieve even planting of carrots. All you need to do is mix the seeds with dry sand.

Earlier, the expert told how to save trees from the danger of moniliosis.
