Soil fertility is of great importance for the successful growth and development of sweet pepper seedlings, and therefore for the future harvest.
That is why the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises preparing the soil for seedlings with your own hands.
To prepare the soil mixture, you will need purchased soil, garden soil, humus, wood ash, perlite and vermiculite.
When choosing soil in the store, try to find one that contains peat, fertilizers and microelements. If you can’t do this, buy peat and soil with fertilizers separately.
As for the soil from the garden, your option is the beds where cucumbers or beans were previously grown.
Don't forget to warm up the garden soil in the oven at a temperature of 60 degrees.
The proportions are as follows: 5% peat, 20% prepared soil, 20% garden soil, 20% humus, 1% wood ash, 3% perlite and 1% vermiculite.
The resulting mixture has high fertility and an optimal pH level, which ensures good seed germination and healthy growth of seedlings.
