Not only experienced gardeners, but also amateurs can grow and make their favorite bulbous plants bloom (just in case, let us remind you that we are talking about tulips).
How to ensure that beautiful plants in your garden give you a wonderful mood, was told by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
Therefore, below you will find useful tips on how to care for tulips.
Firstly, during the growing season of tulips it is important to maintain soil moisture, but not to overwater them. It is enough to water 2-3 times during the entire period.
It is important that the water penetrates to a depth of about 35 cm. Let the watering be infrequent, but abundant. About 10 liters of warm water will be needed per 1 square meter of soil.
Secondly, pay attention to fertilizing, which tulips need 3-4 times per season.
The first time fertilizer can be applied in early spring, the second time – after the first buds appear, and the third time – at the very beginning of the flowering period.
For feeding, you can use fertilizers with a high content of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. The specific composition of fertilizers depends on the variety of tulips.
And thirdly, do not forget that at the end of the flowering period of tulips, their bulbs must completely complete their life cycle, so they still need regular watering and fertilizing with calcium and phosphorus fertilizers (about 30 grams per square meter of soil).
However, experienced gardeners do not recommend cutting off yellowed tulip leaves.
Earlier we talked about why you should pour mouthwash into a vase of flowers.
