If you dream of a beautiful and well-kept yard, you should not think that lawn grass is the only way to achieve what you want.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about alternatives that can be used instead of lawn grass.
Bryozoan
This plant forms a thick and uniform carpet and, in addition, does not fade, tolerates frost well and does not require frequent watering.
There are also disadvantages: before sowing the selected area with moss, it will need to be prepared. The plant requires careful care at first and, unfortunately, is easily trampled.
Groundcover plants
In this group we placed Carpathian bellflower, thyme, aubrieta (orbieta), corydalis, rock cress, periwinkle and others.
Those who choose this option cannot get enough of the impressive selection of colors, textures, sizes, growing conditions and places.
But, as with the bryozoans, the plants are easily trampled, so you can’t really walk on them.
Clover
Clover does not require any special care, it grows quickly without anyone's help and, in addition, attracts pollinating insects and saturates the soil with nitrogen.
Be careful after rain: clover becomes slippery.
Earlier, the expert explained why it is worth growing sage in your garden.
