Probably, all more or less savvy flower growers know that before covering roses for the winter, it is important to disinfect them.

And after removing the cover in the spring, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to carry out preventive measures against Marsonia.

For both procedures, you can use 3% ferrous sulfate, 2% copper sulfate, or a solution of "Whiteness", which has excellent disinfectant properties and acts gently without damaging the bushes.

After the young rose shoots have grown stronger, it is recommended to treat them with salicylic acid – this is the very same pharmacy product we talked about.

To do this, dilute 100 ml of a 2% alcohol solution of salicylic acid in a bucket of water.

When the first buds begin to appear on the rose bushes, spraying preparations can be used in turns: one week use copper-containing preparations, the next - a solution of salicylic acid.

This recommendation is due to the fact that the development cycle of Marsonia is seven days, so it is important to carry out treatments regularly.

Despite the availability of many fungicides against Marsonia, many of them do not provide reliable protection against this disease. Copper-containing preparations and salicylic acid remain the most effective means.

However, it is impossible not to mention those drugs that will help to restrain the development of the disease at its first signs. These are "Talent", "Vincit", "Mancozeb", "Bravo" and "Medea".

Earlier, the expert shared the rules that should be followed when choosing gladiolus bulbs.
