In winter, geraniums stretch out mainly due to lack of light, but not only.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us about the mistakes in care that lead to geranium stretching.
Why does geranium stretch?
As already mentioned, insufficient lighting leads to stretching. Installing a phytolamp will help solve the problem.
Secondly, the reason may be high room temperature. The optimal temperature for geranium in winter is 15 degrees.
Thirdly, the reason may be an excess of nitrogen in the soil. In the autumn-winter period, you should not use fertilizers with a high content of this element.
Geranium can also stretch due to the use of growth stimulants and frequent watering. In winter, this plant is watered no more than once a week.
