Over the course of a season, the soil can become very depleted and lose its fertility. What measures can be taken?
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh suggested considering various methods and approaches that can be used to restore depleted soil and increase its fertility.
Humus
Many summer residents call humus an ideal option for garden beds, since almost all cultivated plants grow well on it.
But this method also has a disadvantage, which is its high cost. In addition, for high-quality fertilization of the entire garden, a large amount of nutrient composition will be required.
Mineral fertilizers
Unlike the previous option, mineral fertilizers are cheap and their consumption is relatively small.
Important: in the fall, only phosphorus-potassium preparations can be used, while nitrogen-containing ones should be postponed until spring.
Natural fertilizers
Of the natural compounds, most gardeners and vegetable growers choose ash, and they have several reasons for this.
The remains of burning wood contain a large amount of potassium, which can deoxidize the soil and act as a natural antiseptic.
Earlier, the expert spoke about plants that will decorate the area even in the coldest months.
