Because indoor plants are forced to exist in a limited amount of soil, the nutrients they have available to them quickly run out.

This is the reason why potted flowers need regular fertilization, explains the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

However, it is not that simple – nutrients should only be added when the plants are in the active growth phase.

Typically this period starts in March and ends in October.

But there are a number of crops for which fertilizing is necessary in winter – these are the plants that bloom in winter.

These include the familiar Decembrists, poinsettias, cyclamens, azaleas, etc.

In this case, fertilizers are used as needed, but the frequency of their application should not exceed once every month and a half.

Another important point: the concentration of fertilizers should be reduced by half.

Previously we talked about plants that can successfully replace a Christmas tree.
