Why did the indoor flower bloom “at the wrong time”: eliminate the causes of the failure – otherwise the plant will die

Many novice (and not so novice) gardeners sometimes come face to face with flowering houseplants. The only problem is that flowering did not start at the time typical for them.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about the main reasons that can lead to untimely flowering.

Important: if you “recognize yourself” in any of the listed reasons, eliminate it immediately, because such a phenomenon can have negative consequences for the flower.

Excess of fertilizers

The plant simply won't be able to go dormant if you've been over-fertilizing it all season.

Stop using fertilizers completely and move the flower pot to a cooler location.

Overwatering

Excess moisture is doubly dangerous: it prevents the plant from "going dormant" and it can also cause its death. Therefore, do not forget to reduce the amount of watering in late autumn.

Excess of light

Too much sunlight will make it difficult for the plant to go dormant. Remember that some crops need a darker room during the winter.

Regime failure

It also happens that in the summer the plant did not please with opened buds due to, for example, diseases or pests, but with the arrival of winter it “woke up from sleep” and blossomed. In this case, forced sending the flower “to rest” will help.
