If you want to get the most out of the land on your property, there are a few rules to follow when planting.

The details were shared by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

According to the specialist, thanks to crop rotation, the summer resident manages to maintain soil fertility, as well as improve the quality of the harvested crop and thereby extend its shelf life.

Let's move on to the basic rules that should be taken into account when organizing crop rotation.

Perhaps the most important of these is not to alternate plants belonging to the same family, since they all have the same needs and are susceptible to the same diseases.

The next rule is: "Consider cultural compatibility."

If you choose unsuitable neighbors for your plants, the development of crops will be inhibited, while good neighbors, on the contrary, will increase the yield.

Another tip: the first places in line for planting belong to plants that need the most nutrition, for example, cabbage, potatoes, celery, pumpkin and spinach.

The following year, you can plant less demanding crops in the beds, including eggplants, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, beets, radishes, and leeks.

Finally, the cycle is completed with peas, bush beans, onions, radishes, lettuce, and herbs.
