An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to properly water geraniums so that they bloom all year round.
How to water geraniums correctly
First, water the plant only after the soil in the pot becomes slightly dry to the touch. But at the same time, the soil should not dry out, as well as allow over-watering.
In winter, the plant is watered after the soil has dried to a depth of 1-2 cm.
Secondly, water the flowers at the same time. For example, in the morning in winter and in the evening in summer.
Thirdly, pour water into the root zone of the plant, and not onto the leaves, otherwise the development of rot and other diseases will not be long in coming.
Fourthly, the water for irrigation should be soft, without chlorine.
Fifth, place the pot in a tray to collect excess moisture when overwatering. It is better to stick to frequent and small doses than rare but voluminous waterings.
Sixth, do not water with cold water. The temperature should be close to room temperature.
