Lighting is one of the most important conditions for the growth and development of both indoor and any other plants.

If a flower standing on your windowsill does not have enough light, it will definitely send you a signal, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.

In this article you will find the main signs that indicate a lack of light for a plant.

First, if you notice that the flower's growth has stopped or slowed down, think about whether the plant is provided with enough light.

Secondly, another telling sign is stretching towards the light flow. The flower can have stretched stems with very long internodes.

Thirdly, you should be alerted by a thinning stem, as well as the shedding of leaves, starting from the lower part of the plant, and this is already the fourth reason.

Let's continue our list: number five is the change in foliage color. It is especially noticeable that the leaves change color when it comes to growing variegated crops - ficus, tradescantia, pelargonium, etc.

And sixthly, think about additional lighting if the flower’s leaves are smaller than usual, as are the flowers, or if there are no flowers at all.
