To ensure that orchids delight you with their flowering and growth, you need to know how to properly water and feed them.
Today you will learn about two effective ways to help your orchids be healthy and beautiful.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, reminded us how to properly water and feed orchids.
Watering orchids with mineral water
Mineral water contains many useful microelements, such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and others.
They are necessary for the normal development of orchids. The main thing is that mineral water does not contain chemicals that can harm the plant.
To water orchids, dilute 1 liter of water with 1 liter of mineral water. Watering should be done once every 2 months.
10 ml of solution is enough for one orchid. Such watering will provide the plant with the necessary substances and make it healthy.
Feeding orchids with banana peel infusion
Banana peel contains valuable elements such as phosphorus, nitrogen and magnesium, making it an effective fertilizer for orchids.
This natural fertilizer helps the plant produce chlorophyll and speeds up the process of photosynthesis. As a result, the leaves of the plants become shiny and healthy, and the flowers - brighter and more saturated.
To make fertilizer from banana peels, you need to peel the banana, wash it thoroughly and scald it with boiling water.
Then place the peel in a clean three-liter jar, pour in prepared boiled water (cooled to 40 °C) and close the lid. Leave the jar in a dark place for three days.
After this time, strain the infusion and dilute it with water in a 1:1 ratio.
To feed orchids, you need to water the plant once a month, if the plant is weak, then 2 times a month.
Earlier we talked about why indoor plants should not be watered according to a schedule .
