How to protect a greenhouse from damage due to snow: a solution for those who do not want (or cannot) clean the greenhouse in winter

Owners of pointed ridge greenhouses can breathe a sigh of relief: thanks to the special design of the greenhouse, snow falls off their roof spontaneously.

But for those who have arched greenhouses installed on their plots, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to be fully armed: a thick layer of precipitation can lead to the breakdown of polycarbonate.

For this reason, summer residents are strongly advised to regularly clear their “greenhouse” of snow when the snowy winter arrives.

But not every gardener has the opportunity to visit their “possessions” so often.

In this case, it is worth taking care of protecting the structure in advance, and T-shaped supports installed under the greenhouse arches will help you with this.

Once again, we draw your attention to the fact that the supports must be placed under the arcs to which the polycarbonate is attached.

If you place supports not under the arches themselves, but under the horizontal ties that run under the roof of the greenhouse, they will not be able to protect your greenhouse from being crushed.

The ideal option is to place an inch board, slightly shorter than the length of the greenhouse, under the roof of the greenhouse and rest the supports on it.

Previously, we told you how to accurately measure fertilizer – without scales and tablespoons.
