Many, if not all, gardeners prefer to prepare for the upcoming season in advance, which is why they grow flower seedlings.

But the space on windowsills and shelves, alas, is not endless, so the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises sowing some annuals directly into the ground - this way you can ease your troubles and save time.

Moreover, some flowers are only suitable for this method of growing – we are talking about those representatives of the flora that do not tolerate transplantation well.

So, the selection of beautifully flowering annuals for sowing in the ground in spring consists of the following plants:

  • nigella;
  • cosmos;
  • delphinium;
  • California poppy;
  • Clarkia magnifica;
  • nasturtium;
  • dimorphotheca;
  • Drummond's phlox;
  • garden aster;

Don't forget to prepare the soil in the flower bed before planting, which needs to be dug up, fertilized and watered.

To warm up the soil faster, you can use a life hack with black film, which you need to cover the flowerbed with for 2-3 days. Use it after planting until the shoots appear.

A few words about the sowing depth: this indicator depends solely on the size of the seeds and is 0.5 cm for small seed material and up to 1.5 cm for large ones.
