The title of the most popular palm tree that can be found in a city apartment can safely be awarded to the flower with the attractive name "dracaena".

Despite the unpretentiousness of this plant, due to non-compliance with the rules of care, its owner risks facing a number of problems. The expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about possible troubles and ways to solve them.

Change of color of leaves

If you notice that the foliage has become greener, this may indicate that the dracaena is not getting enough light. Light spots on the leaves indicate that the sun is too bright for the plant.

However, not only sunlight but also excessive use of fertilizers can affect the change in leaf color. Review your fertilizer application plan, and in particularly "neglected" cases, change the soil.

Drying of leaf tips

As a rule, yellowed and dried tips of dracaena leaves indicate that its watering is organized incorrectly. In addition, it would not hurt to remember about spraying the flower.

Another reason that can lead to a similar result is a draft.

Loss of turgor

The leaves of the flower usually become limp due to hypothermia, which is especially dangerous if the soil in the pot is too damp. These two factors - cold and high humidity - can cause root rot.

There is only one way out: in order to revive the dracaena, remove it from the pot and dry the roots. Get rid of the rotting fragments, and sprinkle the cut areas with crushed coal. After this, transplant the flower into dry soil and refrain from moistening the soil for 3-4 days.

Previously we answered the question of whether it is possible to water flowers with boiled water.
