If you have ever bought Kalanchoe in a flower shop, you have probably heard assurances from the seller that the flower is unpretentious and will delight you with its flowering for a long time.
In fact, not all flower growers manage to achieve the appearance of buds. However, if you follow the instructions from the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , you will not have to wait long for flowering.
First, let us remember that this process is primarily determined by the length of daylight hours.
Thus, buds begin to form when daylight hours decrease – to 10 hours per day.
The only thing left to do is to signal to the plant that it is time to produce buds, try covering the pot with a dark cloth from evening until morning.
This is not the only method of simulating short daylight hours. The others, however, are also not difficult.
For example, you can move the Kalanchoe pot to a closet or use other methods – keep the plant under an opaque bucket, box or bag.
It is worth resorting to such "procedures" from about October, leaving the Kalanchoe in the shelter from 17:00 to 08:00 for 40 days. If you do everything correctly, then flowering will begin in December and last until spring.
