Growing roses has its own difficulties, and one of them is harmful insects that have an irresistible passion for the queen of flowers.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh agreed to list the most common rose pests and methods of combating them.
Aphid
These parasites are dangerous for roses because they cope quite successfully with their task of destroying both leaves and buds.
If you have such an opportunity, call for help the natural enemy of aphids - ladybugs. If not, try a mechanical method of removing aphids (only suitable in case of minor damage) or use specially developed preparations or a soap solution for this purpose.
Spider mite
Due to their tiny size, spider mites are not easy to recognize, so you should look for signs such as wilting buds and yellowing leaves.
There is only one salvation - a preparation suitable for spraying, which should be used several times at intervals of one week, since the eggs laid by spider mites are not afraid of chemicals.
Caterpillars
The top three "leaders" are rounded out by voracious caterpillars. If you don't want your rose garden to suffer damage from them, try to attract birds to the garden.
