You shouldn’t think that proper care for Benjamin’s ficus is a set of tips that are difficult to implement.
According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , even a stunted plant can be brought back to life with the help of the simplest actions.
1. Let's start with the pot. The ideal planter is 2-3 cm larger than the volume of the plant's root system. In addition, the container must have a hole for water drainage, as well as a drainage layer.
2. Let's move on to filling. Here, we repeat, there is nothing difficult either - take a special soil for ficuses in the store, which is sufficiently loose, light and has a suitable composition.
3. After replanting, wait 15-20 days, during which time the ficus should not be bothered with additional fertilizers.
4. The tree will grow neat if you regularly pinch and trim it. As a result of these procedures, the ficus will produce lateral shoots, and not just grow a trunk and main branches, which means that over time the plant will acquire a dense crown.
5. A bright spot is suitable for placing the ficus. It will feel fine on a northern windowsill, but not in a corner.
