Probably every summer resident has encountered aphids on their plot.
According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , there are many ways to combat this problem.
But regardless of which method of eliminating aphids you choose, you have the opportunity to increase its effectiveness thanks to the following recommendations.
1. Before taking any action against this voracious parasite, neutralize the ants scurrying around the area, otherwise all your actions will go down the drain.
2. Pay attention to the fact that aphids primarily settle on overfed and weak shoots.
3. Try to involve the pest’s natural enemies in the fight – other insects and birds.
4. Plant aromatic herbs in the garden, such as mustard, clover and nettle – they repel harmful insects.
5. In addition, find a place in the garden for viburnum, mallow and begonia, which, on the contrary, attract aphids. A suitable corner should be located at a sufficient distance from garden crops.
