Indoor insect pests do not sleep either in winter or in summer. Household chemicals and folk remedies help gardeners.

But you still need to know how and what pests to fight.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told us which indoor insects can threaten flowers in winter.

Spider mite

Its appearance is indicated by the lower part of the foliage becoming covered with yellowish specks, as well as drying areas.

You can treat the problem with a soap solution, but in advanced cases you will have to use acaricidal preparations.

Thrips

The sign of damage is yellowish dots.

It is better to immediately quarantine the affected plants and treat them with "Tanrek", "Iskra" or "Aktellik".

Scale insect

The pest feeds on plant sap, causing the leaves to darken and wither.

First, you need to get rid of the pests by wiping the leaves, and then treat the plant with "Aktara".

Aphid

There is no better remedy against aphids than treatment with laundry soap.

In addition to quarantine, it would not be a bad idea to replace the soil in the pots.
