In Belarus, the vegetable harvest has been completed, and summer residents are trying to preserve vegetables until the winter period in order to maintain the balance of vitamins and microelements.
But keeping vegetables fresh until mid-winter or even until spring is relatively difficult.
For example, you can’t put potatoes and onions next to each other, since onions don’t get along with other vegetables.
Let's look into this issue in more detail.
How to store vegetables correctly
First of all, it is important to understand that potatoes can still be stored in the refrigerator, provided that the temperature is 3-6 degrees and the humidity is about 95%.
We remind you that if you store it in a light place, it will turn green quite quickly. Therefore, it is placed in a wooden box or pantry.
Potatoes also don’t get along with carrots and cabbage – everything will spoil, since potatoes absorb the moisture of other vegetables.
Before storing vegetables, you need to carefully sort them and select only whole and healthy fruits.
