Some summer residents believe that garden crops should be planted in a new place every year.
This is done to increase the yield, since it is believed that any plant draws out a large amount of nutrients during the season.
But there are crops that can be planted two seasons in a row.
Let's see what garden plants are highlighted by the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti" and agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh.
What crops can be replanted?
These are the plants:
- Potatoes. Some gardeners cultivate potatoes not only two years in a row, but also during subsequent seasons, provided that green manure is planted.
- Tomatoes. If you cultivate the soil in the greenhouse, you can replant tomatoes.
- Onions. Can be grown a second time, provided that the previous plants were healthy.
- Garlic. It is better to plant this crop in the same place for the third time after 4 years.
- Peas. It is permissible to grow two crops in one place.
- Parsley. Some people grow this crop as a biennial.
- Sorrel. Can be grown for 3-5 years.
