Spend just 20 minutes of your time in November, and in the spring the rich humus will be ready: what to do

Agree, quickly obtaining nutritious humus is the dream of every summer resident.

And we found a way to do it: using leaf litter, which, if compared by such a criterion as nutritional value, is in no way inferior to compost or manure humus.

Like other fertilizers, leaf humus can provide plants with nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and other macro- and microelements.

Another positive quality of this type of fertilizer is its ability to loosen heavy soils, as a result of which oxygen begins to flow freely to the roots of plants.

To prepare the nutrient composition, you need to fill 200-liter barrels with fallen leaves, which are probably installed on your site for irrigation.

Each layer of leaves about 20 cm thick must be sprinkled with urea in the amount of 2 teaspoons.

When you fill the barrel to the very top, do not forget to cover it with a lid. Sometimes you can find recommendations to use large black plastic bags for preparing leaf humus, but the barrel method is still more effective.

As a result, in April-May, just in time for the planting season, we will receive semi-rotted leaf litter, which can be used to fill the beds during spring digging or placed in holes intended for planting seedlings.
