Recently, it has become very popular among summer residents to lay the tops in trenches made in the greenhouse.
It is assumed that cucumbers will be planted in the place where the plant waste was used in the spring.
However, not everyone uses this solution on their site, and here’s why.
1. As is known, pathogens or pests may be present on the tops.
In this way, you will “enrich” the garden bed with fungal spores, infections, viruses and larvae of harmful insects with your own hands.
2. The second reason is that the tops laid in trenches in the greenhouse will not rot over the winter.
And if there is no decomposition process, then all efforts will be in vain - there will be no heat coming from the plant remains, nor, in fact, any nutrients.
3. Finally, not all summer residents are trying to "reinvent the wheel" and apply a much more useful natural fertilizer to cucumbers. We are talking now, as you might have guessed, about humus.
