Some summer residents boast every year of a garlic harvest the size of which is comparable to a man’s fist.

As it turns out, the secret lies in the soil.

Not everyone has sufficiently fertile and high-quality soil, but this does not mean that this situation should be accepted. With the help of several simple techniques, even poor soil can be turned into fertile soil, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer.

What secrets are worth knowing?

Ash

For some reason, many people have begun to disdain ash, considering it not the best quality option. However, it is difficult to find a more balanced and high-quality option for planting winter garlic.

It is best to add ash directly into the hole.

Sand

Few people know that sand is an excellent tool, often used when planting garlic. As it turns out, it can protect the crop from any pathogenic processes, including rotting.

Humus

This component will enrich any soil with its composition. Half a kilogram of the product is added per square meter.

You should start adding humus in advance.
