Every gardener knows that compost acts as an excellent fertilizer or plant food.

However, the problem is that this fertilizer still needs to be prepared and then dug in on a regular basis .

Is there a way to relieve yourself of this work burden?

We suggest you pay attention to the advice of the accounting agronomist and expert of the online publication Belnovosti, Anastasia Kovrizhnykh.

What can replace a compost pit?

These are the methods.

  • Composting directly on the beds. Mown green mass, tops of garden crops, vegetable peels and even weeds can be used as fertilizer.
  • Compost trench for legumes. Suitable for crops that are planted in rows. Dig a trench 0.3 m deep. Lay organic matter in a 10 cm layer and add manure. Cover it all with mulch or leaves.
  • A hole for some crops. They are suitable for planting zucchini, pepper, tomato and pumpkin. This time we make not a trench, but a hole, filling it with organic matter and manure. We cover it with leaves for the winter.
