Compost heaps or pits are present on almost every summer cottage. And for good reason.

Compost is an excellent natural fertilizer that has a positive effect on the condition of the soil and improves plant growth.

This product usually consists of brown and green natural components. This can be grass, waste from cleaning vegetables, fruits, manure, bird droppings, straw, wood, and so on.

However, not every beginner knows that the quality of the feed depends on the correct ratio of the ingredients used.

The optimal ratio is 1:1. If you overdo it with brown products, the compost will take a long time to mature, and if you add more green ones, the smell will be a serious minus.

If the compost is laid correctly, it will be ready in one and a half to two months. The process can be accelerated by using biopreparations and adding soil from the garden.

You can also water with natural infusions of mullein or nettle. A solution of ammonium nitrate is relevant (50 grams of the product per 10 liters of clean water). But after each procedure, you need to cover the compost with film.
