If you find curled leaves on your tomato bushes, this means that something is definitely wrong with the plant.
An expert from the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh helped to understand the situation.
First of all, let us explain why you should immediately sound the alarm and look for a possible reason for such plant behavior - the whole point is that twisted leaves are not able to provide tomatoes with normal nutrition.
This means that you will get significantly less fruit from such bushes.
Now, let's talk about the factors that could affect the appearance of tomato foliage. Firstly, the reason may be hidden in elementary overheating - especially in the case when the crop grows in greenhouse conditions.
In such a situation, you can help the plants by arranging regular ventilation of the greenhouse, as well as shading the greenhouse, which can be done using various non-woven materials.
Secondly, curling of foliage is observed when excessive side-shooting has been carried out - never remove more than three side-shoots from a bush within a week.
In addition, make sure that their height does not exceed 5-7 cm.
And thirdly, the tomatoes may have been attacked by aphids or whiteflies. Carefully inspect the plants and use insecticides if necessary.
