How to Dry Fragrant Lavender at Home: Basic Rules

If you are trying to dry lavender, remember: it is best to collect it during active flowering, when not all the buds have opened yet.

This is the only way you can get full bouquets without worrying that most of the flowers will fall off.

However, these are not all the rules, because the risk that lavender will lose its color still remains.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about how to act so that lavender does not lose its rich shade.

So, you should start collecting flowers in the morning, as soon as you notice that the dew has dried.

If it is rainy outside, you should give up this for a while. If you neglect this rule, it is quite possible that the flowers will become moldy.

Finally, try to cut the stems in such a way that they remain as long as possible.

If you need to shorten them later, you can do so without any problem.
