Chinese farmers used to use this method of growing onions to get a large harvest.
The advantages of this method include the rational use of fertilizers and the production of large bulbs.
First, you need to prepare for sowing - warm up the seed onions for about 8-10 hours near the radiator and the stove. Do this two weeks before the sowing date.
Also before planting, we remove the husk and cut off the dry neck, but we do it in such a way that the sprout inside is not damaged. Then we soak it in warm water for a day.
At this time, we prepare furrows 14 cm high at a distance of 30 cm from each other. Then we deepen the bulbs by 2-3 cm.
After two weeks, we fertilize with cow dung or bird droppings. In June, we open the tops of the grown onions and remove the soil from them.
In the same month we do additional feeding with organic fertilizers. If the onion is kept in the ground for too long, the bulb will be reactivated and will start growing.
