The plum tree begins to bloom profusely in the spring, but the final harvest may be meager.
Why do almost fully formed but still green fruits fall from the tree?
First of all, it is necessary to ensure that there is a sufficient amount of moisture that will nourish the tree’s superficial root system.
This tree loves watering and for this reason it is important to saturate the soil with moisture to at least half a meter.
If the plum tree is not fertilized on a regular basis, this will negatively affect the harvest - the tree should be fertilized in three stages.
In spring and early summer, provide the roots with a large dose of nitrogen - use mullein, bird droppings and herbal infusion.
In June and July, feed the tree with liquid potassium humate – dilute 3.5 tablespoons of fertilizer in 10 liters of water.
After harvesting, provide the tree with phosphorus-potassium fertilizer – mineral fertilizers can be replaced with wood ash.
In spring, you can mulch the trunk with humus and dolomite flour. Green fruits can also fall off due to a large number of pests.
