After harvesting, there are tops left. But what to do with them? After all, a responsible gardener should not let anything go to waste.

The first and most obvious option is to compost the tops.

But at the same time, you should chop up the greens and water them with EM preparations to speed up the maturation process of the fertilizer.

In addition, experienced gardeners know that high-quality fertilizer can be made from green mass.

To do this, the barrel must be filled not only with tops, but also with weeds, and then filled with water. The mixture must be infused in the sun for a couple of weeks, and only then can it be used on the beds. The result is an excellent nitrogen fertilizer that improves the condition of the plantings. But first, the product must be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 4.

The options for using tomato tops do not end there.

For example, the remains can be burned to obtain another important fertilizer – ash.

These greens are suitable as mulch.

It is also worth noting that the tops are an excellent antiseptic. It is enough to throw them into the cesspool to drive away flies and remove the smell from the outdoor toilet.
