The soft green lawn is a great place to spend time at a family picnic or relax after lunch at the cottage or in the garden.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to plant lawn grass correctly.
First, you will need to clear the area you have chosen for the lawn. By the way, if the area is in a lowland, take care of the drainage system.
Once the first stage is completed, level the soil. To do this, dig it with a shovel to a depth of 20 cm.
The next step is herbicide treatment. You can put lawn grass seeds into the ground 2 weeks after such treatment.
In order for the lawn to please the eye with bright, rich greenery, to be healthy and to boast uniform growth, you will need fertilizers.
An important stage in preparing a plot for sowing seeds is watering and compacting the soil. The latter is most conveniently done with a hand roller, but you can also use improvised means.
Please note: before you start compacting, the soil must be thoroughly wetted and left for several days for it to dry completely.
