If you aim to harvest a good crop from your own plot, you cannot do without additional lighting.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises using phytolamps with the most suitable radiation spectrum when growing seedlings.
And if it won’t be difficult to find a decent option (thanks to the consultants from the stores for summer residents), then problems may arise with the installation of the device.
Remember: the main goal that should be pursued when installing a phytolamp is to create conditions for plants that are close to natural.
To do this, you should direct the flow of light from top to bottom – just like the sun’s rays.
The lamp must be installed at a distance of at least 25 but not more than 40 cm from the plants.
The power of the lamp should be selected based on 20 W per 1 square meter.
And finally, do not forget to regulate the duration of lighting - round-the-clock illumination will certainly harm the seedlings.
