It is better to prepare for an insect attack in advance.

First, you should get rid of any garbage and plant debris on the site. For example, there should be no rotting roots or dry leaves in the garden. It is best to do this before the warm days arrive.

It is advisable to treat perennial crops. This can be done using copper sulfate, ammonia, urea.

The procedure can be carried out during the period when the daytime temperature does not fall below 10 degrees Celsius.

Those beds where beetles were previously noticed must be treated with a mixture of potassium permanganate and water.

When planting vegetables, you also need to add special agents to the holes. We are talking about onion peel, ash and crushed shells.

It would not be a bad idea to mulch the plantings. Dried celandine is perfect for this. The smell of this weed repels the Colorado potato beetle.

In the future, you need to periodically inspect the plants for pests. If they do appear in the beds, you can get rid of them manually or with the help of special store-bought preparations.
