What to do if the yucca leaves have dropped: due to inaction, you can lose the plant

Yucca owners sometimes notice that the leaves of the flower gradually droop, becoming soft and pale, and the stem of the flower softens.

If you see such signs, this is nothing more than a disease known as stem rot, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist, and a landscape designer.

The disease develops at a monstrous speed, and if the yucca leaves are hanging and their base has turned yellow, we have bad news for you - the plant is no longer a survivor.

Until the yucca reaches this state - even though it has a soft stem, but the leaves have not yet turned black and yellow and have not completely fallen off - it is still worth making an attempt to save it.

To do this, you need to cut off all the affected parts of the plant. If there is only one soft stem, you only need to remove it.

After this, remove the palm from the pot in which it is growing, remove any roots that show signs of rot using scissors, and dip the yucca into a fungicide solution.

For this purpose, preparations such as Topaz, colloidal sulfur or copper sulfate are suitable.

All that remains is to plant the flower in a new dry soil mixture and not water it for 4-5 days.

If there is only one rotten trunk, cut off its top and plant it in soil for rooting. The remaining part will have to be thrown away along with the pot.
