Seedlings of heat-loving crops are sent to the beds last of all. It is important to give the plants everything they need for growth and development at this time.
Otherwise, rooting may be delayed, and with it flowering and fruiting, and this should not be allowed.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared several details that will help you decide on this issue.
When to feed seedlings
Fertilize tomato seedlings 7-10 days after transplanting.
During this period, the plant has not yet had time to adapt to the new conditions and needs additional support.
What to feed
Complex fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are usually used. They help strengthen the roots, improve plant growth and development, and increase crop yields.
These could be
1. Complex fertilizers, for example, "Agricola", "Siyanie", "Biohumus". They contain all the necessary elements in the right proportions.
2. Organic fertilizers – manure, compost, humus. They also contain all the necessary substances, but in smaller quantities.
3. Mineral fertilizers – nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium nitrates. They contain only one of the elements, but in high concentration.
Do not forget to read the instructions before using fertilizers. It is also important to observe the dosage and avoid excess nutrients.
